Bookkeeping: Selling Half of Polypore International (PPO) Ahead of Earnings

TweetThis
Nice job by the 'urgent buyer' in premarket this morning - apparently he just learned the GOP will take the House and hence wants to buy ahead of that "breaking news". ;)  Of course he could not wait until 9:31 AM. On the open it looks to be another "90%+" day - i.e. student body left trading as everything is bought in unison.  And right back to highs here in the mid S&P 1190s.

----------------------------------

Polypore International (PPO) reports tomorrow, but after a big surge yesterday (+6%) I want to secure some gains a day ahed of when I'd normally cut back.  This stock has been excellent in performance and I continue to like it for the fact it is not in any major ETF, hence outside the realm of the algo trading and it sort of dances to it's own beat, like stocks used to do.  The stock is actually making a move to new highs today, so technically the action is very good...

Analysts are in for 27 cents on $150M in revenue... considering they did 34 cents last quarter I'd expect a beat.  So we'll see if this one also enjoys a "Riverbed day" post earnings.

Most of the remaining position was bought in the mid $20s area so I am locking in about a 35-40% gain; I'll have about a 0.8% exposure post sale.
