This whole credit spending deal seemed like a caffeine, alcohol, ecstasy free-for-all. Consumers could live far better lives than their measly job would support, retailers, advertisers, producers were getting very rich.
It's like partying all night, passing out in a bush and waking up sick. You can hardly remember all the fun you had or all the stuff you bought. But boy do you feel the hangover...
