I doubt that this will help anyone, based on our early start to the week but this just in:

-------------------------------------

TOKYO: Toyota Motor said Monday that it would buy steel from Posco of South Korea for its Japanese factories, in a bid to reduce costs as the automaker faced its first annual operating loss in 71 years.

Toyota will use Posco steel in some of its models starting in February, said Hideaki Matsubara, a Tokyo-based spokesman for Toyota. It will be the first time Posco steel has been used to make Toyota cars in Japan, he said.

Toyota has bought steel from Posco for its factories in Thailand and Indonesia since 2003, Matsubara said.

Posco, which earns about 70 percent of its revenue in its domestic market, has been gaining a competitive edge against Japanese rivals because of the cheaper won. The Korean won lost 26 percent against the U.S. dollar last year, the worst performance among the 10 most-traded Asian currencies.

Posco sells to other major Japanese carmakers, including Nissan Motor and Mitsubishi Motors.
