"Employer Funding" in the case of these public employee pension funds is a euphimism for "taxpayer". Problem is with lots of unemployed, under-employed, small business owners with declining revenue, lack of profit sharing and bonuses in larger companies -- there just isn't going to be as much income to tax.

Public Employees cut sweet deals (with themselves in many cases) that the states may not be able to afford in the future.

Will belabored taxpayers, themselves looking at the obliteration of their pathetic little 401k's, and with it any chance that they will retire REALLY BE WILLING to go along to pay higher and higher taxes to makes sure that public employees (some of whom retire at age 50) getting 85%, 90% and 105% of their highest pay continue to do so.

Bankruptcy seems a more feasible alternative, to let a judge reduce or eliminate many of these obligations. Yes, there government entities up to entire states CAN go bankrupt.

Vellejo led the way, voted to go bankrupt to dispose of unaffordable public employee liabilities.

Who is next? California? Washington??

Hope that the funds reverse the loss as soon as po...

Hope that the funds reverse the loss as soon as possible, else the employers would need to be ready to increase the their contributions in pension funds.

Lisa

Hedge Fund Jobs
