Ron Paul: The United States is Bankrupt

TweetThis
It is quite sad how so many things Ron Paul has warned of (and was scoffed at, and marginalized as some "loony") have come to pass. We haven't checked in with Paul for a long while [May 14, 2008: Ron Paul Fox Business Interview] [Mar 14, 2008: Ron Paul - Tough Medicine is the Treatment] [Dec 15, 2007: Ron Paul on Jim Cramer] but it's time to see what he has to say as the U.S. devolves into Banana Republic. By the way, Ron Paul has a bill out for full transparency and audit of the Federal Reserve - fat chance, but thanks for playing Congressman Paul. All videos courtesy of Ronpaul.com

Full disclosure as always when I post about a political figure I should remind: I think both parties are doing an equally fantastic job of driving the country into the ground, as they distract the people with social issues or whatever the firefight of the week is. So I'm non partisan - they both do an excellent job at skimming the system for their own benefit while feeding the beasts that pay for their campaigns. Until they leave public office to get excellent high paying jobs with those who they fed. And yes there a few exceptions I suppose.

First from the Glen Beck show. This is a 8 minute clip but you can start at minute 5:20 as the first part of the video is about how some group in Missouri claims he is part of a militia group. Actually the first minute is also quite funny as Glen Beck describes how the U.S. is now like Jinga. Key fun fact, every American family (of 3) now owes $116,000 and we are just getting started kids! Just wait a decade from now.

Second, from Bloomberg Ron Paul says the Free Market, not a group of people in a room should arbitrarily decide interest rates. Yes! 5 minutes.

Third, from CNN, 6 minutes on the disgrace that are the AIG bailouts/bonuses; also the same theme we point out all the time - America leadership is about putting out the fire right in front of us, we are reactionary always, proactive never.

Last, from CSpan just 90 seconds about how the outrage over AIG bonuses is simply politically driven

He's the only congressman that cares.

LOVE your Full Disclosure statement but I would add at the end "but I don't know any."

Completely and utterly appalled by congress and hope that a big wind will blow them all away permanently.
