Curious as to why are you keeping bits of shares?
Hi Keith
More for blog purposes than what I'd do in real life. I like to post a blog entry when I start or end a position. If I completely closed out a position I'd be adding a lot more blog entries to what is already a quite full menu. I try to touch on "major" position changes in separate blog entries... not all of them.
So I keep "holding positions" of 0.1% for things of that nature. I also have a bad habit of losing track of stocks once they are on not on my sheets. If I were doing this full time and had proper computer set ups and was watching all day I'd change that up. But for blog purposes I do not wish to constantly say "closing ABCD, and then 3 days later, aha! opening ABCD again... etc" So things I plan to keep around for a while but don't want to have a large exposure to I keep a handful of shares.
Hope that explains the mystery.
