57 Stocks Returning 9%+ this Week

TweetThis
Unlike the past few weeks where there were less big winners than the indexes return would assume, this week was the opposite - a flattish market (with huge volatility) creating a lot of individual winners and losers. As you can see "early cycle" names were hot again - from General Motors to homebuilders to banks. So despite the late week rally in commodities, it was simply making up for carnage Monday-Tuesday -> score another week to the "rebounding US consumer" (facts to the opposite notwithstanding) Perception is reality trade is still on.

Criteria
  1. Market capitalization $1.40B+
  2. Average trading volume 100K+
  3. Stock price $10+
  4. Return this week 9%+

Mark ... I wanted to ask your opinion on something ... a few weeks back, CLF made that offer for ANR ... which was "contested" by harbinger ... whats your feeling .. is this thing going to happen ... quick calculation currently peg the offer at 100$ ... with ANR trading @ 70$ ... seems like there is 40% in there ...

Seems like there is an enormous amount of press over LEH this weekend. No real talk about AIG, WM and MER which are also going to be just as serious. Even with fre/fnm and bsc, I don't remember this amount of press. I guess they were done more secretly and no time to milk the press. I just don't see how a leh buyout will save the financial system or give confidence in the US markets. It is just a 2.5B company after all.
