83 Stocks Returning 9%+ this Week

Looking over this week's list we see a Brazilian flare... with the S&P upgrade of the country's rating, it was Samba time for the entire country. Some of our holdings filled the top rankings (we had 2 of the top 3, and 4 of the top 11), but most were not large weightings so while the % gains were excellent, most did not do a lot for the overall fund action. This illustrates why, unlike most mutual funds, I do not own 200-300 positions. Because if position # 187 gains 30% in a week, and it's a 0.3% weighting, it really does not do much for your return. Further, the gains we did have were offset by the hedging positions (Ultrashorts) this week - what we gained in 1 spot, were offset by losses in another.

As always the criteria are

1. Stock price $10+
2. Market capitalization $2.0B+ (I will probably move this down a bit in future weeks to try to find some smaller companies to round out the fund's larger holdings)
3. Average trading volume 100K+
4. Return this week of 9%+
   

Green we own; blue we have owned or have discussed. As an aside if you want to see the pooring of America in action take a 3 month chart of Walmart... admire it. Then take a 3 month chart of Big Lots (BIG) and admire it more. The American consumer continues to move downstream as his real wage (adjusted for inflation) continues to go negative. Last, I believe quite a few names on this list ("early cycle" recovery baby) are going to make for great shorts in a relatively short amount of time... but not until the "2nd half is nirvana" brainwash is over.
