What a Day Redux

TweetThis
Remember 'What a Day' yesterday where 5 of the top 7 positions put in quite a showing.

Well today, its 7 for 7. Cripes. Fund is up over 2% on day alone. (even the short ETFs worked out today, must be a blue moon outside) This makes me very pleased because aside from the market "finding" the gems I like; I can play it more conservative during earnings seasons since the fund is really separating from the indexes measured against, outpacing SP500/Russell 2000 by 3%+ this week thus far.

Added to the 4% out performance in the first 9 weeks, that gives a total of 7% out performance after 9 1/2 weeks. Also I was able to raise cash from negligible last night to 9% today with all the sales. And yes I am knocking on every piece of wood (and ceramic/ plastic/ even formica!) So let me smile on good fortune, as the market likes to bring us to our knees the minute we get too smug (hence my raising of cash in earnest today). I have a feeling that when the market corrects, the type of stocks I own which have had very large runs could see some of the heaviest selling pressure (see August 07 for reminder), so hence why I need to build up a 'lead' on the indexes ahead of any sort of correction (next correction not due until 2012 per memo leaked from Ben B.)

#1 LDK +4.6%
#2 TSL +4.1%
#3 BCSI +10.0% ($50 year end target only $2.50 away?)
#4 MOS +4.9%
#5 CIEN +3.7% (it now appears $50 year end target will be hit on this one as well)
#6 CNX +3.2%
#7 BTU +1.6% (well you always have to have a laggard) ;)

These 7 are almost 1/3rd of the fund's weight so a dandy day - I will store this in memory for the next time the market is making me look silly. So what could trash this week? 3rd party auditor coming back with something negative to say about LDK Solar (LDK) on Friday and stock drops 20%. You wouldn't do that to me would you LDK Solar? (p.s. they signed yet another 3 year contract today for about $40M/yr for 3 years starting in '08)

I'll update the fund's weightings in the far right margin by end of week.
