Wonderful numbers from Google (GOOG), Intuitive Surgical (ISRG), Nokia (NOK), and Gilead Sciences (GILD). Google, for that size of company is just doing amazing; cut back some of the labor growth but in general just is steaming ahead. Impressive. So much for the theory of taking a hit from financial companies cutting back advertising. Could it move into top 5 of US market cap within the next 6 months?
Sunpower (SPWR) great topline growth, but bad margins and no raised guidance - still rose a ton after an initial sell-off - people want into this sector and with very few US plays, it looks like a simple supply/demand dynamic - only 2 major US players, and tons of mutual funds which want to show they held these stocks. Valuation is still massively expensive...
On tomorrow's docket:
- A slew of Dow components, 3M (MMM), Caterpillar (CAT), Honeywell (HON), McDonalds (MCD) - for the latter 3, again the story remains the same, foreign growth is where it's at.
- Arch Coal (ACI) - one of the "big 3" in USA for coal - I own the other 2, and they have been stalwarts the past 3-4 weeks.
- Harley Davidson (HOG) - yeh we already know it's a disaster - exactly the wrong stock to own with a slowing consumer; think Coach (COH) with gasoline exposure. Double whammy!
- ICICI Bank (IBN) - Indian bank and fund holding
- Schlumberger (SLB) - mother of all oil service stocks - I'd expect some good things
